Abstract

1. 1. Two DNA-binding nonhistone chromosomal proteins were isolated from mouse myeloma MOPC173 by hydroxyapatite ehromatography and single stranded DNA-agarose affinity chromatography. 2. 2. Equilibrium competition binding experiments employing nitrocellulose niters show that these proteins exhibit stronger binding to single-stranded DNA with a slight preference for repetitive DNA. Binding to RNA. however, is poor.
