Abstract

The electronic properties of single-layer hybrid perovskite BA2MI4 (M = Ge, Sn, and Pb) are theoretically investigated. The single-layer perovskites not only show tunable bandgaps, ranging from ≈1.5 to ≈2.0 eV, but also exhibit strong exciton effect. The desired properties of these atomically thin perovskites will motivate future experimental studies of 2D perovskites for improved functionality.
