Abstract

Helical flux compression generator (HFCG) is a high power single pulse device which uses high explosive to generate a single high power electrical pulse. Modelling of this device is very necessary in order to reduce the cost of testing and the misuse of the high explosive. Multi-sectional HFCG is the most efficient and reliable type of pulse generator for which modelling is necessary. In this paper, the Modelling of the multisectional HFCG is implemented using two dimensional codes with an approach of solving the differential equations using state equations method and are compared with the experimental results taken from the literature. Some of the parameters used in the design considerations are also been discussed.
