Abstract
To control beam shaping in front of a target, to prevent the thermomechanical damage of first neutron source’s wall and also to control beam propagation in transport system including particles transverse coupling motion two types of monitors for two‐dimensional beam current distribution measurements are offered. The principle operation of one of them consists in recording the density distribution of secondary electrons along a wire emitter scanning the beam. The principle of operation of another one consists in transformation of two‐dimensional primary beam current distribution into corresponding electron one which is transferred, registered in discrete points and then approximated. The description of these monitoring systems and their testing results are presented.
