Abstract

In this work, the two-dimensional channel Add Drop Filter (ADF) which is formed using Photonic-Crystal-Ring-Resonator (2D PCRR) is presented. 2D-FDTD (Finite-Difference-Time-Domain) technique with Plane Wave Expansion (PWE) approach is used to simulate the design and to calculate the Photonic Bandgap (PBG) of the proposed structure; respectively. PBG of ADF is located in L and C optical communication band used in coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) applications. The design structure is constructed in square lattice of two dimensions. Add drop filter shows high coupling efficiency at resonance wavelength of 1561nm.
