Abstract

Many aspects of the biology and behavior of sharks are now predictable. Their use as experimental animals in biomedical research has steadily increased, but too little attention has been paid to their metabolic changes during capture and confinement. Ecological and behavioral studies of sharks in their natural environment are essential.
