Abstract

Two novel cadmium-based luminescent metal-organic framework (LMOFs), {[Cd(PIAD)(H2O)]·H2O}n (1) and [Cd(PIAD)]n (2), has been successfully assembled by H2PIAD a solvothermal method. Complex 1 possesses a 2D layered structure with a binodal 4,4-connected net. Complex 2 presents a 3D dense-packing structure with a binodal 5,5-connected net. Meanwhile, complex 1 exhibits highly efficient luminescent sensing towards CrO42− and Cr2O72− ions with the detection limits of 2.12 × 10−4 and 2.02 × 10−5 M, respectively, and the mechanisms of the quenching effect are studied in detail.
