Abstract
This paper describes two categories of intelligent adolescents referred for scholastic difficulties. Although they present similar symptoms, they are not a homogeneous group. In Group A, academic failure is related to ego impairment. In Group B, scholastic dysfunctions are secondary to residual language deficits.
