Abstract

Abstract In this paper is presented the all-optical AND and OR gates with high contrast ratio in a single interferometric configuration, i.e., when two logic signals are modulated in the input of the interferometer, so we have the OR gate in the first output and the AND gate in the second output. These logic gates were obtained by numerical investigation of the Mach–Zehnder interferometer constituted of dual-core nonlinear photonic crystal fiber operating with ultrashort fundamental solitons of 100 fs. To represent the logic information, pulse amplitude modulation by amplitude shift-keying was used.
