Abstract

Twin pregnancy is a risk factor for early postpartum depression and anxiety. Whether this translates into a higher risk of severe maternal mental illness is unknown. The objective of this study was to compare women with a twin vs. singleton birth, and their risk of severe mental illness in the first year after birth, as well as starting from 1 year after birth.
