Abstract

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a debilitating, painful condition, characterized by sensory, motor, autonomic, skin and bone abnormalities in a limb. Its existence has been known about for centuries, however the assessment and treatment of this condition still represents a major challenge. In 2018, the Royal College of Physicians published up-to-date guidance on CRPS. This article contextualizes these guidelines into a series of questions that clinicians and patients have about CRPS, aiming to promote better understanding whilst delivering a practical guidance.
