Abstract

Measurements of turn-on voltage V TO on large-area semiconductor controlled rectifiers (SCR's), some having one gate and others having two gates spaced 90 degrees apart, confirm earlier findings that current spreads at approximately 0.1 mm per microsecond. Dual gate units turned completely on in significantly less time and exhibited higher di/dt capability.
