Abstract

The Johnson Street Bridge has served as a critical link to the city of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, for many years. A single-leaf bascule bridge that is functional and visually appealing replaced the previous structure, which comprised twin Strauss bascule bridges. The project delivery included a blend of design/bid/build aspects with features of alternative project delivery models.
