Abstract

Information and communication technologies are used together with the rapid development of the internet and social media is preferred as an important social and economic promotion tool in about every sector. In this context, the aim of the study is to reveal how and for what purpose the professional organizations of tourist guides use Facebook as a social media tool in their corporate communications. For this purpose, the Facebook accounts of the tourist guides professional organizations were examined in July and December (2018). Qualitative research method was used in the study and document analysis was used as data collection tool. In this context, the contents of the Facebook accounts of the tourist guide professional organizations were subjected to content analysis. As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the professional organizations were used for informing the public and members of Facebook and sharing the guide controls they carried out. The members have easily an idea about the activities of the professional organizations via facebook.
