Abstract

This paper explores two meanings of the alternative tourism. Seen as strategy of big corporations revolve around the responsible tourism and their local communities commitment discourses, at the same time maintaining territorial dispossession and conspiracy with authorities. In the other side it shows the experience of two processes which take up these tourist concepts, and from the social organization generate economic alternatives based on the care and protection of the territory from a community perspective. It shows the way in which tourism has become a field of dispute over resources and territories in which the state and the formulation of legislation assume great importance for the care or territorial dispossession.
