Abstract

Turbulent transport processes in a tokamak’s high (H-)mode confinement are investigated using the concept of a turbulent magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) dynamo. Under this concept, the effect of the poloidal rotation is linked with the turbulent cross helicity to reduce the level of MHD fluctuations. The poloidal rotation is also shown to be sustained under the combined effects of the shear of a toroidal plasma current and the turbulent cross helicity.
