Abstract

Multilayer graphene with turbostratic stacking was synthesized by graphene layer growth on a graphene template using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) under high process temperature of 1300°C. Electrical transport properties of the synthesized multilayer graphene shows higher conductivity and carrier mobility than those of the pristine graphene template. The enhancement of the carrier transport properties is caused by the turbostratic stacking effect where the band structure of the multilayer graphene is similar to that of the monolayer. This result means that the synthesis of graphene layers grown on the graphene template is effective to improve the carrier transport properties in the multilayer graphene sheet.
