Abstract

SynopsisUsing variational method and numerical simulation, the tunnelling of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in a tilted shallow trap is studied. The stable bound state, the quasi-bound state and the diffusion state are predicted. For a driven shallow trap, the resonance tunnelling phenomenon is observed.
