Abstract
AbstractHole tunneling between light and heavy mass bands in a homogeneous semiconductor due to a strong electric field is analyzed in the framework of spherical and at k = 0 degenerate bands when the spin–orbit interaction is infinite. Nonperturbative techniques are used to solve the problem. As in the case of zero spin–orbit interaction it is found that intervalence band tunneling takes place in a ring‐shaped volume whose symmetry axis is parallel to the electric field.
