Abstract

Quasi-particle dispersion relation, its isotope shift, and a damping rate were calculated using a spectral function of the electron–phonon (e–ph) interaction determined by our tunneling study for slightly overdoped Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O 8. These results are compared with the results from photoelectron and optical conductivity studies, and indicate the substantial role of an e–ph interaction for the occurrence of high- T c superconductivity as well as its limitations.
