Abstract
Essential oils extracted from stems, leaves and flowers of Tunisian Ruta Graveolens collected during different months (June-October) by three methods: hydro-distillation, hydro-cum-steam distillation and solvent extraction were examined for their chemical composition by GC-MS. Leaves and flowers contained more oil than stems. Drying the leaves and flowers at 40°C for 4 days increased their oil yields. Month of collection changed the oil composition in different parts.
