Abstract

Chiral Microparticles Supermolecular structures as solid, chiral and flower-like microparticles are obtained from monosaccharide stearoyl esters with variable molecular configurations of sugar rings. Chiral ‘left-handed’ (counterclockwise) and ‘right-handed’ (clockwise) morphologies are induced by d- and l-glucose stearoyl esters. Galactose and mannose stearoyl esters can form flower-like microparticles, while xylose stearoyl esters can only form solid microparticles. More details can be found in article 2102938 by Kai Zhang and co-workers.
