Abstract

This note reports the experimental result of lasing properties if a flashlamp-pumped tunable dye laser having a mixture of xanthene and a cridine dyes. The lasing threshold energy of the dye mixtures in the methanol solution decreases considerably and the lasing wavelength shifts to the long wavelength side over about ten or more nm in comparison with the tuning range of the pumping dye. In the ethanol solution, however, these phenomena are not observed.
