Abstract

Temperature-resistivity behaviors of the carbon black (CB)/polyamide 6 (PA6)/high density polyethylene (HDPE) composite with a CB coated electrospun PA6 superfine fibrils network were investigated. A strong positive temperature coefficient (PTC) intensity together with a weak negative temperature coefficient (NTC) intensity has been achieved synchronously by the isothermal treatment (IT). This fascinating phenomenon is attributed to the large size of the conductive component-CB/PA6 fibrous networks and the position evolution of the scattered CB in the conductive polymer composite. A model has been proposed to explain this interesting result. Our work provides an effective approach to prepare a high performance thermal sensitive material.
