Abstract

Incorporation of polar end groups (OMe, CN) to the structure of 9,10-bis(1,5-diphenylpenta-1,4-diyn-3-ylidene)-9,10-dihydroanthracene (BDPPD-DHA) led to enhanced intermolecular attractions in the aggregated state and hence brought about aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties.
