Abstract

The article summarizes the study exploring the anti-corrosion characteristics of tungsten coatings produced by chemical gas-phase deposition in a solution simulating the geochemical conditions at the Yeniseiskiy site. The study shows that a 30-micron-thick tungsten-based coating appears to be quite stable with an average corrosion rate of 1.4 microns/year. It also notes the high stability of tungsten coatings under microbial fouling conditions.
