Abstract

A tunable Wilkinson power divider (WPD) utilizing parallel-coupled-line-based phase shifters (PSs) is designed in this letter. With the derived analytical design formulas, the adopted 90°-PS possesses tunable center frequency and controllable impedance by adjusting the two embedded varactors and features 0.5–1.3 GHz tuning range (88.9% tunability). Taking advantage of the two tunable PSs in replace of the two quarter-wave transformers among the conventional WPD, the divider can be realized with satisfactory tunability. The measured results validate the feasibility of the design approach.
