Abstract

The Ti: sapphire laser has been rapidly developed and is the most succeeded one among the tunable solid-state lasers. It is tunable from 660 nm to 968 nm and this range can be further extended to blue and ultraviolet regions through wavelength conversion by using nonlinear optical crystals. This paper reviews high-efficiency external resonant and intracavity frequency doubling for cw Ti: sapphire lasers.
