Abstract

In granular superconductors, the macroscopic superconducting properties and vortex dynamics are closely linked with the granularity. This research focuses on preparing Pb films with different grain sizes by simply varying the evaporation rate. A progressively emergence of second magnetization peak is observed with increasing the grain size, which finally evolves into flux avalanche. The underlying vortex pinning mechanism evolution has also been analyzed. The results provide an efficient way to tune the vortex-pin interactions as well as the related macro properties in superconductors.
