Abstract

A dielectric image guide loaded with a self biasing ferrite was designed and tested from 26.5 to 40 GHz. An M-type hexagonal ferrite was used with its c-axis transverse to the direction of propagation. The electromagnetic scattering parameters of the device were measured for the magnetic field applied along the c-axis. Two different methods were used to analyze the guided structure-(a) a transmission line circuit model and (b) perturbation theory. General agreement was found between the transmission line analysis and the experimental results. >
