Abstract
Mucocele, also known as mucous retention phenomena, is a nodular-shaped swelling usually caused by trauma in the mucous membrane of the minor salivary glands.The oral cavity presents plenty of groups of mucous glands. Under normal conditions their ducts produce mucus on the surface and preserve a wet atmosphere for the mucous membrane.
