Abstract

The solitary fibrous tumor or hemangiopericitoma may be found in any location. It arises from mesenchymal cells. The most common locations are the pleura or in the abdominal cavity and its presentation in the sinonasal cavity is exceptional. They are characterized by prominent vascularity within a background of collagen stroma. Due to its composition, the imaging features and its low growth pattern help make accurate diagnosis even when the location is unusual. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the imaging findings of SFT and correlate with pathologic findings.
