But because there are few reported necropsies the pathology of the disease is of particular interest in regard to the distribution of the lesions. Last year Bernstein was able to collect only 18 necropsies and to these he added three of his own. We have reviewed these cases and three additional reports by Beck and Merkel, Amoss and Sprunt, and Kavanaugh to determine the distribution of the lesions.
