Abstract

The research on the economic resilience of SMEs will provide a profound understanding of the extent to which SMEs can withstand crises, adapt, and the factors that influence their adaptation success. Additionally, this research can also provide insights into effective policy support to strengthen the economic resilience of SMEs. The research methodology used in this study is descriptive qualitative method. The technique used in this research is interviews with Baznas RI as the manager of UMKM Z-Chicken. The research took place over 4 months, from January to May 2023. The research findings indicate that the steps taken by UMKM Z-Chicken to face the Covid-19 pandemic include market analysis, menu adjustments, setting affordable food prices, collaborating with local governments, offering special deals and promotions, as well as implementing health protocols. As an UMKM fostered by Baznas, UMKM Z-Chicken can expect support and assistance from Baznas in various forms during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as training and mentoring, business capital assistance, access to networks and markets, promotion and marketing, as well as technical and management assistance. Post-Covid-19 pandemic, UMKM Z-Chicken is faced with challenges that they need to overcome to recover and grow their business. Some challenges that UMKM Z-Chicken may face include slow economic recovery, intense competition, compliance with health protocols. However, UMKM Z-Chicken also has opportunities, such as increased demand for ready-to-eat food, changing consumer preferences, business model innovation, support from the government and financial institutions, as well as increased brand awareness.
