Abstract

Danièle Conso, Philological inquiry on a neglected source of the Libri coloniarum, the Remensis 132, DHA 32/1, 2006, 53-82. Abstract: The public library of Reims preserves, as a flyleaf of a manuscript of the tenth century, an isolated folio, which dates back to the VIth -VIIth century. It presents a short latin text, followed by ten illustrations with their captions. It is a surveying note, similar to those of the Libri coloniarum. We propose a new reading and a translation of this text, as well as a commentary of the text illustrations, insisting on their contribution to our knowledge of the land survey vocabulary and illustrations. A third Liber coloniarum, separate from the two Libri edited by K. Lachmann, may have existed.
