Abstract

A study of the physical and chemical processes which generate dendrites permits the geometric or analytic definition of some characteristic patterns. The latter are described and compared to natural and controlled crystallizations, thus allowing to describe the spatial distribution of supersaturation steering the mutual orientation of crystals in actual dendritic patterns.
