Abstract

Membrane preparations of T2 obtained by osmotic shock contain a proportion of killer particles in which one particle can kill one bacterium. The rate of adsorption of these killers is the same as for the intact phage. The adsorbed membranes produce a transformation of the bacterial nucleus which is totally different from the action of intact T2.
