Abstract

Five of these children were under 4 years old when they developed meningitis. In only one survivor (Case 24) was there a snowstorm appearance on x-ray examination, and' in one other (Case 32) there was a single choroidal tubercle, now healed. In three children the disease was in its early stages when treatment was begun, and in the other six it was in an intermediate stage. No child has survived in whom the disease was already advanced at the onset of treatment. Two children have had a relapse of meningitis and have recovered after a second course of treatment.
