Abstract

Abstract The history of tuberculosis in South African wildlife; tuberculosis due to M. bovis in proven and suspected wild maintenance hosts; tuberculosis in wild spillover hosts of M. bovis; M. bovis transmission at the wildlife-livestock-human interface; wildlife tuberculosis in intensified systems; and management options in controlling tuberculosis in wildlife are discussed in this book chapter.
