Abstract

Gastric submucosal tumors (gSMTs) are often found incidentally on EGD, prompting further evaluation by EUS. These lesions may be suspected to be gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and need to be differentiated from pancreatic rests, cysts, lipomas, or leiomyomas. EUS-FNA confirmation of GISTs is technically challenging, often resulting in non-diagnostic sampling.
