Abstract

Colonoscopy with polypectomy has significantly reduced the incidence of colorectal cancer. Training to achieve thorough examination of the colon, accurately identify pre-cancerous lesions and complete polypectomy is essential aspect of fellowship in gastroenterology. Multiple studies using Cap Assisted Colonoscopy (CAC) demonstrated shorter cecal intubation time, higher cecal intubation rate and marginal improvement in adenoma detection rate. Experienced endoscopists (>500-1000 colonoscopies) performed majority of these procedures.
