Abstract

article discusses the concepts of truth and reality in several sports films such as The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. It examines phenomenological and narrative tensions in such films and the narrative analysis of sports-themed films and books, challenges facing historians when analyzing sports films for factual accuracy, and public history. it also discusses the book Learning to Labour.
