Abstract

ABSTRACT: Many debates about liturgical renewal are mainly based on personal experience. Can we speak of a truth that transcends those experiences? The divorce between truth–dogma and liturgical practice can be perceived both in the pastoral and academic levels and is, according to Joseph Ratzinger, "the central problem of the liturgical reform." Therefore, the reflection on the place of truth in the liturgical debates of our time is an important key for authentic liturgical renewal, allowing us to discern what is essential and how to put into practice those truths in different contexts.
