Abstract
The importance of environmental monitoring in today’s world is self-evident. Our lives, health and sustainable future all depend on our understanding and protection of the ecological environment. However, traditional environmental monitoring systems are inadequate when faced with increasing data requirements, data credibility and other issues. The characteristics of the public chain blockchain such as non-tampering, openness, and decentralization have brought a ray of light to environmental monitoring. It is expected to improve the trustworthy management of environmental monitoring at the technical level, improve the public’s awareness of environmental protection, and standardize environmental protection behavior. In this paper, we will study how the public blockchain can empower environmental monitoring and improve the problems it currently faces, such as data fraud, excessive emissions from pollution sources, and frequent environmental destructive behaviors. Discuss in the era of rapid development of digital technology. How can the public chain assist the credibility of environmental monitoring data, how to create an open and transparent environmental monitoring data sharing platform, and promote the protection of the ecological environment.
