Abstract

Specialising in surveys of domestic residential properties and, in particular, clients with large housing stocks such as local authorities, the author's company is finding an increasing number of defects in the housing stock built in the 1960s and 1970s. In this paper, the author considers how these inherent defects are exacerbated by the changing climate such as the increase in wind speed and frequency of gale force winds.
