Abstract

Electrochemical nitrogen reduction to ammonia has recently gathered enormous interest as an attractive carbon-neutral alternative to the Haber-Bosch process. However, this novel process severely suffers from poor reproducibility and reliability. As reported recently in Nature, Chorkendorff and colleagues implemented a systematic benchmarking protocol to eliminate the false and retain the true in nitrogen electroreduction research.
