Research Article| April 01 2018 “True Christianity”: The Flowering and Fading of Mormonism and Romantic Socialism in Nineteenth-Century France Erik J. Freeman Erik J. Freeman ERIK J. FREEMAN is an instructor of history at Choate Rosemary Hall, in Wallingford, Connecticut, where he teaches courses on modern European history, American history, environmental policy, and the American West. He received a BA in French from Brigham Young University, a second BA in history from Utah Valley University, an MA in history from Brandeis University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in history at the University of Connecticut.
