Abstract

The Lamb-shift measurements are analysed within the framework of the self-consistent spinor field theory of quantum electrodynamics developed several years ago. It is found that the theory predicts a substantial dependence of the shift on the applied Zeeman field and this is in conflict with the experimental results.
