Abstract
The article focuses on the European Union big science Human Brain Project (HBP) and problems it is facing. It states the HBP was conceived by professor Henry Markram to craft a mathematical brain model simulating the entire brain and mentions that a lack of transparency and managerial problems have resulted in a massive overhaul of the HBP. It contrasts HBP with the Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) initiative in the U.S. and its outreach to neuroscientists.
