Tropical matrix groups and Boolean matrix groups

Abstract

In this paper, we give a complete description of the maximal subgroups of the semigroup of all [Formula: see text] tropical matrices under multiplication up to isomorphism. Using the description, we prove that every subgroup of the semigroup of all [Formula: see text] Boolean matrices under multiplication is embedded in the symmetric group [Formula: see text].
